Basic safety and emergency training refresher

Target group

The target group for the training is everyone due to stay on facilities on the Norwegian continental shelf (NCS).

Learning outcomes

After completing the training, the participant must be able to:

• Describe risk factors and identify barriers
• Contribute to increased safety on offshore facilities
• Perform life-saving first aid
• Evacuate from a helicopter
• Prevent fires from starting and extinguish minor fires
• Evacuate from offshore facilities by escape chute and liferaft
• Use a survival suit in the sea

prerequisite

Basic safety and emergency preparedness course.

Refresher frequency

The training must be repeated every 48th month by everyone due to stay on facilities on the NCS.

Personnel who have not completed the basic safety refresher course within the past four years must take the refresher course before travelling offshore.

Personnel who have not completed the basic safety refresher course in the past eight years before travelling offshore must repeat the basic safety and emergency preparedness course.
