    Description

    The HLO (Helicopter Landing Officer) refresher course provides the necessary expertise to tasks related to helicopter operations on offshore installations.


    The course provides training in the use of the helideck manual, communication and weather reporting with helicopters, handling of dangerous goods, supervision of the fuel system, tasks in emergency situations and normal operations on the helideck, use of the correct extinguishing agent to extinguish a fire and use of protective and breathing air equipment.

    Personnel performing helicopter deck crew functions

    Weather reporting, communication and routines

    Dangerous goods

    Aviation fuel

    Emergency situations and normal operations on helidecks

    Firefighting practices

    Protective equipment


    Prerequisites:

    HLO basic course


    Repetition frequency:

    24 months


    Participants who have not had a contingency role or completed a contingency course or other equivalent training within the last 5 years must take a new basic course.


    The course consists of e-learning and 1.5 days of practice at a course center
